Become a Coach or Volunteer and Make a Difference

NEW VOLUNTEERS

In order to volunteer, you must have completed a volunteer application, submitted and approved background check and completed the  SafeSport Training.

The First Tee of Idaho is about so much more than golf – it’s about strengthening our community. And you can help, whether you play golf or not. You only need to enjoy working with young people, and have a willingness and ability to serve as a positive role model of mature, responsible behavior to our participants.

The volunteer application process has three elements that must be completed in this order.

STEP 1

Complete the Volunteer Application.

Click Here to fill out the application.

STEP 2

Complete the background check and SafeSport Training (cost $20.50). Once you’ve submitted your application, our Program Director will reach out to you with information on how to take the background check and SafeSport Training.

STEP 3

Complete the ACT (Assistant Coach Training). In order to access the ACT, you must be provided an account log-in. For this step, email Katie McKelvey at kmckelvey@thefirstteeidaho.org.

Our Philosophy

Without caring mentors, positive youth development just doesn’t happen. At The First Tee, we take coaching seriously. We believe that a meaningful, quality relationship between coach and participant is vital to our program.

“Young people don’t care what a coach knows until they know a coach cares.”

As you consider volunteering for our chapter, know that the safety of our kids is our first priority.  Please read our Prevention Policies to see how we conduct programs and activities at our chapter.
